Tara Sargent
Executive Director
Tara Sargent, D.Ed. has served as Executive Director of LWC since June 2010, graduated from LWC in 2008, and graduated from Leadership Maryland in 2011. Tara currently serves as a member of the Hagerstown-Washington Chamber of Commerce board of directors, a member of the Greater Hagerstown Committee, on the University System of Maryland at Hagerstown Board of Advisors, and on the Hagerstown Community College’s Advisory Board for Career Programs in Accounting & Management. She has a B.S. in Education and a Masters in Business Administration, both from Frostburg State University, and a doctorate in education in Adult Education from Pennsylvania State University. She has lived in Washington County for 24 years and enjoys hiking, biking, reading excellent fiction & non-fiction, quality time with friends and family, and travel near and far. Tara lives in Hagerstown with her husband, Andrew, and their adorable Shih Tzu, Kitty.
Tara Bockstanz
Director of Graduate Engagement
Tara Bockstanz earned her bachelor’s degree from Shepherd University in 2003 and was previously employed at McCollum Hearing Center as their Director of Operations for over 10 years. Tara formerly served on the LWC Board of Directors and as the PTA President for Williamsport Elementary School. She was born and raised in Washington County and continues to raise her family here. With her husband and their two daughters you can find her camping, canoeing and biking on the C&O Canal. She and her family are huge St. Louis Cardinals fans and love Notre Dame Football. She appreciates a fine glass of wine, a delicious sushi roll and quality time around a campfire with her friends and family.
