COVID-19 Updates from LWC
Leadership Washington County believes that public health and safety are top priorities. With the growing prevalence of COVID-19, or Coronavirus, in Maryland, we are monitoring both federal and state guidance on how to minimize exposure to and spread of the virus on a daily basis. The health and peace of mind of our staff, board, committees, partners, and program participants will guide our decision-making in the coming weeks.
As the impact of COVID-19 continues to evolve, we are taking precautions to minimize risk through social distancing:
- Staff will work from home for the next two weeks beginning 3/16, at minimum.
- In person meetings, including LWC committee meetings, will be postponed or conducted over the phone.
We will re-evaluate if the timeline must be extended as the ever-evolving situation changes over the next few weeks. We ask our LWC class members, board and committee members, and graduates to monitor the situation in their own communities, follow Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html), Maryland Health Department (https://health.maryland.gov/pages/home.aspx), and the Washington County Health Department recommendations (https://washcohealth.org/), and the policies and procedures being implemented by our health system, Meritus Health (https://washcohealth.org/).
